Hi,

I heard that PO files conversion process was going to be finished until last month, so currently php-doc translators (at least Japanese team) is
now putting a hold on committing new translations.

That was a rather blind and optimistic view (from me) and I apologize for it. Translations shouldn't be put on hold because the conversion will be announced and use the latest XML sources. Additional thought and testing is needed, more then I originally thought.

After roughly reading php.doc archives, it seems that PO file conversion
process does not go smoothly.

I'm not complaining about po conversion process does not go smoothly,
but all I want is its current status and when will translators be able
to commit new translations again.

The current status is on hold until more testing reveals why a translated file might not convert from XML->PO. I'm working on this. And also the tool chain must be better investigated, both for building and PO file management.

Of course, I thank Philip and others for working on it deeply, but the
more commits translators holds on, more and more translation will be
outdated, so it is better for them not to hold on new commits for a long
time, I think.

If po conversion process will take a long time, so we should have extra time to wait for accuracy for po4a or other alternative tools, as Masahiro
said.

P.S I also agree with PO conversion.

Agreed, basically we're business as usual until a better defined system is designed and created.

Philip
