[Ok -- resent to the new mailing list]

Hello,

I'm currently developing a stand-alone TODO list program. I know there
are plenty of other projects out there, but I *really* like the ical
calendar. The other projects have a 'suite' of utilities that include
calendars, etc. I have yet to find a decent stand-alone todo-list
program. If anyone knows of one, let me know.

I initially wrote my program, tenatively named pi-todo, after glancing at
the pilot-link utilities. I made use of read-todos from pilot link
(exports your todo list into a text file). I incorrectly assumed
install-todos took the same text format and installed todos to the pilot.

So now I have a pi-todo program that reads a text file formatted as
read-todos formats it. It also updates, modifies, and saves todo entries
as well. Ok, it's lacking a bit of functionality here and there, but the
most important piece that I need to resolve is how to handle syncing
with the pilot. Initially, i'd be happy with downloading/uploading the
entire database, with future plans for full hotsync capabilities.

So, after thinking about it, I think my only solution at least initially
is to figure out the ToDoDB.pdb format. Then I can read it with my
program, modify it, write it back out. Then when necessary, just
overwrite the current pilot one with the new one. Or vice-versa..

Just FYI. This program is currently written in perl/TK.

Project home page is: http://www.slothmud.org/~hayward/pi-todo
(should be up in about 20 mins)

Getting to my questions:
1) Does anyone know of good resources describing the ToDoDB.pdb format,
how to read it, what the different parts are, etc.
2) Are there any others out there that would like to contribute to this
project? Even if it includes just letting me be a pest and answering
questions on details of the ToDoDB.pdb and communicating with the pilot
for a database hotsync?
