Dusties have no problem getting projected onto the film when the filter is behind the pinhole- I know this from painful personal experience! Moral- Take pains to clean any dust fragments from your filter before every shot, and, if your filter is inside your camera, make sure that the inside of your camera squeaky clean, or else as soon as you close your camera, dust will hop on your filter like fleas on a dog!
