I was doing some research on pinhole photography and came across your
site. I was quite impressed so I subscribed. I am a student and several
of us plan to try pinhole photos for the first time this spring
semester.
I personally hope to try both pinhole photos and using liquid emulsion
in the 2001 spring semester.
What caught my attention in viewing your discussion page was the
scattered location of contributors. "It's a Small, Small, World" jumped
into my mind. Thank you James Keller. With the page only being approx.
three years old, it must be a hugh success and valuable to persons world
wide.
My knowledge of pinhole photography is ZERO at this time, BUT thought I
would say Hello and comment on your upcoming Swap. Depending on the
cutoff date, I may or may not have any photos available. If I do I
would be interested in the Swap.
Just a few of my thoughts on the Swap:
A - With all the modern technology a slide show or album on line
would be nice which I believe someone mentioned in one of the
discussions. A cover or introductory page with a Map of the World with
locator dots for the various members/contributors would be nice. I
guess this came to mind since that is what fascinated me when I found
your site.
B - A page for each member/contributor could include Location,
Language, Brief personal info and 1, 2, or 3 images to be clicked for a
larger view. And as someone mentioned in the discussion possibly a 'face
to put with a name' could be included.
C - In regard to actual 'good' prints of the various work -maybe
a secure digital high resolution transfer for printing locally would be
the least expensive method BUT receiving Snail Mail from around the
world may be more meaningful.
As a returning student who has seen many changes over the years,
I am fasinated by the constantly changing new technology BUT am also
interested in various more 'primative' methods.
Happy New Year to all.
