Hi Colin!
Thanks for your comments. The waterfall image was taken on Ilford Delta 3200 film with my 2 1/4 converted Lubitel Zone Plate. The umbrella was taken with a lovely zone plate made by Guillermo Penate for my 35 mm Canon, also on Delta 3200. Both were developed in Rodinal and then worked on in Photoshop. I do a lot of work with curves in Photoshop to adjust the tonal range of the final image since the zone plate negs never have much contrast. I have printed zone plate negs in my regular B&W darkroom, but it's a lot easier to get the results I want digitally. I do almost all my work as digital giclee prints now, both colour and B&W. There are a lot of great watercolour type papers for printing available. I use Generation colour ink and MIS Quadtone black inks in two different printers, one for colour and one for B&W.

Sorry for the inevitable technical question, but what
kind of camera? We talked briefly before about my
frustration with zone plate, but you've got both the
ethereal haloes and good contrast.

I have just moved to California from Japan (after 18
years!) and will be working less. I hope to have the
time to get back to zone plate and do some more
exploring.

Colin
