Also to note, with another list member's help, he suggested and this is
working.  I open the big video in Pitivi, grab the start/end times in
seconds, then go to the command line and use ffmpeg to cut and save the
snippet.  I looked into doing this in mencoder also but didn't see options
for start/end time (or I missed them).
