Hi LadyT,   They are different drugs, but both are used to treat pit tumors. 
Cabergoline is the generic name for Dostinex. Bromocriptine is the generic name 
for Parlodel. Both are "dopamine agonists" that suppress prolactin production 
from the pituitary.  They can also sometimes be effective at shrinking pit 
tumors.   Both are now available in generic form, although the generic 
cabergoline is still much more expensive than bromocriptine (which has been in 
use much longer).   BTW, it seems like different people react very differently 
to each of them -- I had terrible side effects on one, but do fine on the 
other.  So if you try one, and have problems, keep your spirits up and ask 
(demand!) to try the other.   --Kim
