Resolution: Won't Fix
Pivot will not provide a "native" preferences API. The original concept was
based on providing a Map-based wrapper around the JNLP persistence API. This
would have worked well, but there is currently no easy way to launch a JNLP
application from within Eclipse. This makes developing the API as well as any
applications that rely on it too difficult.
If Sun provides an easier way to launch a JNLP session in the future, we can
revisit this.
