We'd talked privately, a while back, about putting the "human readable" or
"author approved" (or whatever) version string into a package variable.
That would allow us to encode things like -alpha, -beta, -rc, and so on in
a standard location, without having to come up with a dotsequence that
represented a subtractive version.

It also occurred to me, in talking to Plocher yesterday, that it might be
useful to encode some of Sun's "big rules" in attributes, too.  The one
that I thought might be most interesting is whether a package is part of
the TCB (trusted computing base), but perhaps if you're interested in
something that's considered section 508 compliant, or is correctly i18n'ed,
or ...
