SUNWipkg and SUNWipkg-gui are back published to all builds since 86. We've started the discussion about when we'll be able to stop back publishing every build back to the beginning of time, but as far as I know, there are no concrete plans yet. So, I think Ethan's concern is a valid one. You can certainly choose to test whether you're in a pre 91 or post 91 build when you're running, or use the option Ethan mentioned (if that does what you need it to). We're not required to provide perfect functionality going back in time, but we can't break.
