Folks,

Is there a known problem with the package manager in OS.2008.11 whereby
the packages within a repo are not listed within the GUI ?

For example - I have the following configuration (apologies to non-sun
folks):

r...@rpe-tosh-r600:~# pkg authority
AUTHORITY URL
extra https://pkg.sun.com/opensolaris/extra/
sunfreeware http://pkg.sunfreeware.com:9000/
righthook.east.sun.com http://righthook.east.sun.com:10000/
dev http://pkg.opensolaris.org/dev/
sru (preferred) http://mum.sfbay:10702/
release http://pkg.opensolaris.org/release/

the 'sru' repo contains packages for opensolaris (ie SUNWckr and all the
others).

When I look at the packages within the 'Package Manager' I have the
following:

Setting the repository selection to:

o 'dev' I see all the packages in the package panel (ie I see SUNWckr)

o 'release' I see a selection of the packages (ie I do not see SUNWckr)

o 'sru' I only see the incorporation that is in that repo (ie I do not
   see SUNWckr).

Looking at the package details (SUNWckr) within the GUI when the 'dev'
repo is selected I see the details of the SUNWckr package that resides
in the 'sru' repo.

Removing the 'dev' authority and restarting the GUI now starts to
show some of the packages within the 'sru' repo.

Is this a problem with the package manager and having different repos
which hold different versions of the same package ?

Thanks
pete
