So right now, there are a bunch of unpackaged, GUI-related bits in the

they

list, though I'd like to keep that very small, if not empty).
Basically, all .mo files are unpackaged, as well as all
package_manager.png
and update_all.png files, other than those in the C locale directory.
The
one remaining directory is /usr/share/update-manager/data.
Are the .mo files not in the package SUNWipkg-gui-l10n?
The package_manager.png and update_all.png files you refer seem to be
related to i18n.
Currently the localized *.png files are not installed because of the package
size.
The IPS packages are installed in Live CD so we need the effort to reduce the package sizes. The localized *.png files in Online Help are not
installed and the package uses the symlink of C *.png files.
We'd want a feature, the same package name has the two versions. One is for Live CD and another is for net repository. When users upgrade the packages
from net repository, the additional files can be downloaded.
The directory /usr/share/update-manager/data is present because of an
error, I believe, in the Makefile for src/um. The references to
ROOTDATASHARE should be omitted..
BTW, regarding to l10n, After 2008.11 was released, I have almost completed to move the task from Desktop G11N to Solaris G11N to follow the base
repository. The l10n contact is [email protected].

What should happen to these files and directories?
Thanks,
