I don't believe you can use osol_111 to install 2008.11. There are zfs
incompatabilities and it will not boot. If you really want to do this,
you should use 2008.11 to install 2008.11.
Hi Mary
Thanks, I installed 100a ( pre release candidate for 2008.11 ), so I'll
try that instead.
I also notice that zpool status shows that I am running an older zpool
version than build 111, so I guess if I done a zpool upgrade i wouldn't
be able to boot my earlier builds.

I then added patch_to_inst from my actual boot env and rebuilt the
boot_archive. Manually edited menu.lst to add the new boot env and
unmounted the BE.
A reboot and selecting the relevant grub entry results in the banner
being displayed, so boot_archive is getting loaded, but I get no
further than the banner displaying 101b.
So my question is is this actually doable. My system was installed
with a pre release of 2008.11 which I have upgraded along the way to
build 111 currently, so I wanted to basically install the actual
2008.11 to test the SRU's, but was wondering if this was doable, or
what I am doing wrong here.
