One change needed in updatemanager.py at 234, remove the leading '/'.
Making this change tested UM, UMN, PM, WI natively and using the German
locale. All come up, start page is correctly displayed in PM and help
also in all apps.

In misc.py, display_help() uses os.path.join() incorrectly -- the
result of
that call will never have application_dir prepended; you'll need to
strip
the leading slash from "/usr/share/..." like you did everywhere else.
