BJ has clarified that as far as we and the IPS team our concerned we
should be going for Feature Complete on the 14th December.
- That's good news as this is what we have been planning towards.
Update Manager and Notification
==================================
- Brock has raised the issue (10995) where he would like to see UMN
icon reflect any issues it has had trying to check for updates.
- This presents a problem as the check for updates we run, is having
to do an expensive plan update all which can also cause network
traffic and potentially lock any other clients using IPS.
- If we can get an api.check_for_updates() that can run with low
overhead and no network calls, throwing exceptions for any issues it
has, we could check frequently and update the status of the UMN icon
appropriately. If the IPS system can fetch this information as its
doing its periodic refresh and make this cached information available
to the api.check_for_updates() we would be sorted.
- This would also resolve our current Thread Safety issue when calling
check for updates.

API Dependency
============
Publisher Add and Manage:
- Manage (Register Repos), Priority Ordering of Pubs
- We will be able to set the ranking of Publishers as part of Bart's
deliverable over the next few weeks.
List API's
- Shawn has sent us an initial webrev, Padraig is integrating it and
we will have feedback for Shawn on his return.

- Will be worked on by Shawn after his break
Search and Browse All:
- Cancel Search
Action: BJ has talked to Krister and this is on his list for 2010.03
delivery, but will not be happening in the next few weeks.
UI Design
========
UI meeting tomorrow.
- With Ann on leave next week until the end of November want to review
all UI issues with GUI team.

- Needs UI designer to work on new Start Page layout [Simple no script
support, just CSS so no security issues].
Action: Ann to work on getting designer to work on overall page
design. Ongoing.
7934: Show progress percentage in system taskbar for UM & PM
Action: Ann to review bug. Should we display <PM Icon> <Publisher> in
task bar and then during Install/ Remove/ Update All/ Search display
status?

PKG-33: Obsoleted software packages should not be listed by the new
List API. No GUI impact.
History (Solaris.Next)
=======================
Would be great to have History that supported rollback of IPS actions
that did not require a BE to be created.
- BJ explained that due to the potential problems that can arise if
incompatible configuration changes are made to the system, rolling
back/ regressing installed package versions will not be supported.
- We can support BE rollback and this is what we should make available
in the History Dialog for Solaris.Next.
