In what version of gphoto2 was it fixed? Do you have some link to give? Currently, unstable has 2.4.11 (the latest released tarball), and it was released in mid-April. Do you mean that by "long ago"? :) Furthermore, I ask you to file a proper bug using "reportbug gphoto2", or by reading http://www.debian.org/Bugs/Reporting .
