I prefer it, but I understand what you are saying, and we'll take a look at the

Visiting the page again should also update the diary section.

But I think what you're saying makes sense. It probably would be nice for
planner-diary-add-entry to call the function to update the diary section if you
are currently looking at a planner page, for the page you are looking at. I'll
make a note of that.

The docs are patched pretty quickly around here with feedback from the mailing
list, so if you are tracking the development branch of planner, you can get
them by updating your copy. But I've been meaning to generate an HTML copy on
my site nightly..
