Since I didn't include my CV in my previous post, here is a quick version of
it. It's not really in CV form, but it should serve to give you an idea of
what I can bring to the table:

Currently I'm employed as the Voice over IP Architect for Primus Canada.
While we don't use much Asterisk here, we do use it for testing, load
generation, network monitoring, and a host of other things. I have
extensive experience with SIP and MGCP protocol debugging which might not be
useful for this project, but who knows.

Before that I was the Senior Administrator at Echo Online internet, building
mail (IMAP) platforms, radius, databases, billing systems, etc. We also
started a CLEC (Globility Communications) and I developed Voice over IP
Services using Asterisk and Aastra CSG SS7 Gateway with Nortel CVX RAS
devices. When Echo was bought out by Primus in 2003 I transitioned into
the role of internet services lead at Primus where I continued to focus on
the email architecture.

Finally, I can program in PHP, ASP, Perl, Java, Visual Basic, and Visual
Basic .NET so I can assist with any AGI development that is required.

My interest in this lies in the IMAP aspects of it as I think if Asterisk
really wants to grow to the next level it needs a stable, IMAP based
voicemail system. Every commercial softswitch I've ever used relied upon
IMAP for the backend storage of messages. Also I've been looking for a
project to work on in my spare time and this one just peaked my interest in
the right way.

Subject: [taug planning] Voicemail: the next generation

Folks,

If you are offering to help, thank you. Can you also include a kind of
mini-cv so that we know where your skills and interests lie? I don't know
all of you as well as I would like, and this will help me figure out what we
are made up of.

And no, I am not going to pick and choose based on whatever criteria I
think, but if we are heavy on the asterisk jockeys, with a few shell coders,
and lean on the C, Perl, etc side, we need to understand what that means in
terms of how we go about this. Frankly, I think it might very well be
possible to do this all using shell scripts, cron jobs and the dialplan. Not
sure that is the best way, though. That is what I am hoping to discover.

Thanks,

Jim
