It's Linux 2.2.18 with RTLinux patches.  I don't see why these would
interact badly with plex86, but I'll try a standard kernel when I get
back home next Tuesday.  My test machine is a 500 MHz PIII with 2
processors, but it's running in single-processor mode for all tests
reported here.
