development, debugging, and gathering instrumentation

Sounds like a cool option to have. I appoint you as head
person in charge of PCI spoofing and double-headed video
extensions to plex86. :^)
As long as we can compile without it, sounds good to me.
Plus, it would make for a mighty killer demo.
