Careful comparison (e.g., by aligning the pages on top of each other
and blinking between the two every second or so by alternatively
iconifying and deiconifying the one on top) of pages 3 and 4 of the
19th standard example shows there are some subtle visual differences beyond
the obvious "Baltimore" label on the 4th page.  In particular,
the dashed lines of latitude are rendered slightly differently in the
lower right quadrant of the plot.  (I have verified this issue with the
xcairo, pscairo, qtwidget, epsqt, and xwin devices so I don't think it
is a driver issue.)

With regard to the lines of latitude, the only difference between the
two pages is plstransform is being used for page 4 but not for page 3.
If you use diff or ndiff between the two pages rendered as PostScript
(using the -fam option so you can generate a separate file per page),
there are lots of relatively big differences (which presumably I
spotted visually) and also many intermediate and small differences as
well.

If plstransform is doing its job properly, shouldn't the two pages be
absolutely identical except for the Baltimore label?
