I have done that now, and the local clone of that SF repo for
timeephem passes all the same comprehensive tests that I did for the
original local repo via my tailored test script.  So this effort
officially completes my conversion of timeephem from a SF subversion
repository (now kept read-only) to a git SF repository, and the
timeephem development from now on will utilize git instead of svn.

Now that I am done with the timeephem case, my understanding is Hazen
plans to follow up with the completion of the same conversion from svn
to git for the PLplot case utilizing my experience for the timeephem
case.
