It's not free software exactly, but Clie Mail is included with Clie PDAs in certain countries. Clie Mail can handle PRC/PDB attachments, along with some other file types. Clie users in these countries have seen fit to post the files in various places, if anyone wants to take that route.
I am currently trying out the SnapperMail beta, which can handle attachments of any sort. I reckon pler will be a perfect match for it. If anyone's interested, check out www.snappermail.com. Is there any Free email replacements that do download attachments?
