Thanks everyone - I did in fact grab the download, but was clueless on the build part. It installed nicely (at least that is what the installer said) but there was no clear next step. I am excited about this whole project, so now with the directions below I will give it a shot and report back.

Thanks!
JG

This is great Rob, now if anyone who has successfully built if for OSX
could give a little shout out about any extra fine points, we may just get
this built for him.

Jonathan,

If you can get on AIM or IRC this weekend, I'll try to help you out. I've
had success getting it built for Solaris and helped someone get it for
Linux. How much harder can OSX be ;)

Rob, I think he also wanted to get Plucker Desktop working too. and was
having problems with the conduit. I was following his thread on another
group and sent him this way.
There is some generic build instructions on http://desktop.plkr.org

The steps for making on OSX would be:
-Install the dev tools OSX CD if haven't done so already.
-Download the wxMac package from www.wxwindows.org and do what it says for
install (likely
configure, then a make). Make the XML resources and StyledTextCtrl
libraries alos that are
included in the wxMac package.
-Download the Plucker Desktop source from CVS.
-Make it on OSX, likely cd to plucker_desktop and type:
make -f Makefile-wx-standalone.

I haven't had any access to an OSX machine, so can't tell the specifics.
There have been some
others that have built it successfully over the summertime on OSX. Wesley
picked it up and
built it for Solaris and made a package.

For the conduit, there is some blanks in the sourcecode to be filled in
for Palm Hotsync
integration, since there is no documentation, and I don't have an OSX
computer yet. I'll get an
OSX laptop of my own in the coming weeks and do up a version. You can just
roll your own
syncing behaviour in the meantime by outputing all .pdb files to a folder,
and specifying a
command after syncing all channels to send them to the palm.

Best wishes,
Robert
