Installed the developer release again for Java 1.4.1r6 which has things working! I set up my first converted site and manually synced it over! Nice...finally back in business. I recall a resource site with plucker ready urls like an avantgo directory... anyone recall the url offhand?

Check to make sure you are really invoking the 1.4.1 JRE. Another Mac OS X
user posted a message here that it did work on his configuration. I think
you are using the default 1.3.1 VM. This would explain why you are getting
the NoSuchFieldError and NoSuchMethodError exceptions.

Sorry, I don't have a Mac, so I can't check this for you.
