I have over 20 applications on my Windows machine that store their settings
in <user home>. Granted, this way of saving settings comes from the Unix
world, but JPluck is cross-platform.

The best solution is to specify the configuration file on the command-line.
This way you can store it anywhere you want and the application doesn't have
to take into account platform-specific cases(which only require more work
and maintenance). Will implement this for the next release.
