I think your change negates the purpose of the string.strip() call.
Does anyone know why that is there?  The current CleanURL looks like a
bug to me, but maybe it has some reason.

Maybe your go will inspire someone to fix this.

Question for the space-philes.  How should plucker handle cases like:

  <a href=some generated url   class=moo>link text</a>
