If there's a type of package we're missing, let me know and I'll do what I can to get one made up and put on the site for download.
POSIX tarball, please. The distiller-only tarball I grabbed doesn't seemed include any of the helper scripts or anything that helps me to install it. 1.5 seems to be the same. I'm now downloading mini-unzip to unpack the zip file, but other people on POSIXish platforms may have tar not infozip too.
