Because you posted it to the group. You keep expecting others to learn proper behavior; if that was a personal message, was it proper behavior to post it to the list?

Doesn't necessarily make it right, though. I don't see any reason to
feel sorry for people who are (1) voluntarily signing up to receive
large amounts of mail from one or more mailing lists and (2) failing
to ensure that they have the tools and expertise to cope with (1).
But is it wrong? I'm not aware of any reason to deny the clamoring masses the subject preface. Lots of things aren't technically necessities and are not, logically, required as rights, but none-the-less are very useful timesavers. Plucker comes to mind. <g>
