I know I'm chiming in a little late on this issue, but I just wanted to
point out that I personally would prefer having some sort of automated
thing in the subject line telling me that it's from a list. I have the
following reasons:
1. I choose to receive all of my email in a single unified inbox.
Having the subject line indicate that its from a list is convenient as it
lets me visually scan and categorize my mail without having to do a manual
search/selection.
2. When I get a new-mail notification, I get something like the following
pops up across the bottom of my window:
New mail! from John T. Doe as to "This is the subject line of the ..."
Having the [list-name] in the subject line would allow me to know much
more easily what the message is going to be about, as we all know Subject:
lines often aren't the most descriptive or helpful.
