I just tried, and it will not install via the URL. I do not know why.
By default, Firefox only allows software installation from update.mozilla.org for security. You have to manually add "trusted" sites to this URL list if you want to install from other sites.
Tools -> Options -> Web Features

For XUL extensions, yes. Are you sure you have software installation enabled in FireFox?
Thanks -- actually that was the *third thing* I tried. I set it to include "plkr.krzysztow.com" with an "Allow" attribute, but no luck.
The first thing was to click the link, but it didn't know what to do with the file.
The second thing I tried was downloading it, and running it from a local hard disk. Firefox didn't know what to do with it local, or from the web location, it asks for an action with the XPI media type, or to save. Looking at the Tools>Options>Downloads>File Types, it isn't listed there or in Plug-Ins (same spot, though I'm not sure if it should be, since it should be integral to Firefox).
