Absolutely! Years ago I coded for a software company on a vertical market financial app. We had several rival companies. When a customer switched, in whatever direction, there was never an issue. The data was provided, and even some support and/or developer time given to getting the data out of the old system and into the new system. Of course I wouldn't expect a horizontal company like Intuit to give actual time for this, but they should have an export to CSV option for all your important data. It's very sad if they don't.
