Hi It seems some people are never going to agree to the point to use a FOSS OS during these kind of seminars.
Well whenever I see a speaker being reluctant or refusing to use a FOSS OS and chooses to use proprietary OS,the speaker gives a very clear message to the audience which is that still the FOSS world lacks the foundation or the foundation is still to weak to get even every day today work done. Unfortunately most of the people/audience (some times professionals) do not understand what exactly a license is and how it works. For many only Microsoft is the proprietary. The most frustrating is when people come up with Apple Mac and give demo on that -- your message to the public is very simple-- your need costly high end (proprietary) devices to do this. I remember we always used to say that we can use Linux of a computer on which windows will crawl, IIRC there are groups who are promoting the same and utilizing old hardware and providing the same setup to NGO's schools etc. There are lots of points that can be continuously argued for/against the same. I will end the same by giving the simple example: You want to promote use of Khadi and you are giving you speech wearing a Armani Suit -- Does not work out for me. -- Dexter On Thu, Dec 11, 2014 at 10:02 PM, Abhijit Bhopatkar <b...@devslashzero.com> wrote: > > Ever heard of Godwin's law?
