some possible tools:

http://e2undel.sourceforge.net (Debian: apt-get install e2undel)
http://recover.sourceforge.net (Debian: apt-get install recover)

warning, these are aimed at ext2 filesystems, so results of using these on ext3 
 aren't too good.
