we're still in the process of migrating, my dear
brothers and sisters.

'Tol, you don't have to run GNU/Linux on the desktop. Keep your
Windows, but use OpenOffice.org. Having said that, I should clarify
that opening the file shouldn't be a problem in OOo Writer since I
don't see any special formatting such as frames. Also, as an aside, I
have to check how this works in Firefox but Konqueror opened up the
.DOC as an HTML.

we're thru with the server side. the desktop side is
scheduled next month. we cannot just migrate instantly
without trainings and phasing-in and phasing-out.
Else, productivity will go down and chaos will reign.

Again, may I suggest that you keep Windows on all but the adventurous,
but run OO.o, Firefox, Thunderbird, and other F/OSS apps? That way,
when (if?) you go all GNU/Linux on the desktop, your group would be
already familiar with those key apps.

hope u comment more on the substance of the draft.

Coming right up.
