Btw when i said MMS is like email its because i was using the telco's MX server that translates email to MMS on the fly such that you can just ask them to forward all your MMS to your email inbox then its just MMS encapsulated in Mail. You will receive it as multipart attachments without MIME type.! you just have to guess that the smaller attachment is the text and the other bigger attachment is the image or whatever.

That's not quite correct. Both MIME format email and binary (Nokia EAIF) encapsulated MM binaries are valid MMS formats -- namely, MM7 and MM1 format.
Last I heard sending MMS was only 1 peso. Globe allows around 100KB, and Smart currently claims 400KB. The maximum limit of the Nokia EAIF MMSC is around 550KB. Although much above 50KB, the messages take forever to arrive due to slow GPRS.
Godie is off base here. He ought to know better than that seeing his job function -- that 80% of the market is still on SMS. And the 20% of the market who do have MMS phones, only a small fraction actually have correct GPRS/MMS settings.
MMS is great, due to the large payload and cheap cost of sending. But there are too many variables (not enough GPRS phones, not enough GPRS phones with correct GPRS settings..)
The cheapest way to do Email from SMS is to use a GSM modem. That way you don't need to worry about cross-telco issues.
