I have not used either.

I have used quickinit and lately i am using a launchd clone. both
boots up really fast. I get a login prompt immediately after the
framebuffer is initialized. Im not going back to sysvinit ever again!

Interesting... I should check them out. If I switch from SysV init, do I have to make a lot of changes?
