I recall the assertive stance of OpenBSD Theo de Raadt that Linux can
and will show cracks not only in it's technical but also in it's
legal, consequently moral, position as far as licensing is concerned.
It would be misleading to say that Linux is about to die, it's just
that many development time was spent playing catch-up to Microsoft and
with it, many subscribed to the idea that Microsoft way of doing
things is/are better, admittedly or not.
Should Novell be proud of the deal they made? I don't think so. They
opened the floodgate of further FUD into Linux development, if Linux
really is a reliable platform, why prioritize or give weight to having
to interoperate with an unreliable, crash- and virus-prone one?

i dont like this whole story so far. microsoft like to keep their
friends close and its enemy even closer. and somehow microsoft always
managed to get what it wants.

im making sure my projects are ready to run on freebsd from now on. i
dont like where linux is headed...

maybe its time to start contributing to the hurd...
