Ehem. Going back to the blog post, one of the commenters there claimed he loved Linux but cited the need to compile software that's not in the repo, then the source doesn't compile. He also mentioned some hardware issues, but those are not relevant because Fr Stephen's running Ubuntu on a Mac. I thought -- and left a comment to that effect -- that software not in the repo is pretty rare and is likely dependent on the popularity of both the distro and the specific software. *Has* anyone had any software, especially software we might consider mainstream, that you've had to build from source? Any problems compiling?
