The kernel version in 10.10 seems to be having hiccups when it comes to 
wireless 
drivers.  I have been trying out Maverick since a couple of months ago and 
there 
have been times that the wireless driver I needed didn't work properly.  Maybe 
they aren't done fixing these problems completely.  Even 3G modem support is 
not 
as good as Lucid.

Have you tried configuring by hand instead of using NetworkManager?
