The kernel version in 10.10 seems to be having hiccups when it comes to wireless drivers. I have been trying out Maverick since a couple of months ago and there have been times that the wireless driver I needed didn't work properly. Maybe they aren't done fixing these problems completely. Even 3G modem support is not as good as Lucid.
