Subject: [plug] vidcard recommendations for ubuntu

Folks I have a Palit GF9600GT 1024m DDR2 128B, pci express videocard
(http://is.gd/1JQRW9). On Ubuntu it requires proprietary drivers and
is a big letdown. There's this near indistinguishable, ever so slight
hesitation when opening / closing windows, typing text and so on,
which isn't all that bad if it weren't for the fact it works very well
in that other OS, where I use it for Photoshop and uhh.. games :D

I've just about had it with this thing and am on the hunt for
something to replace it. Am looking for a video card recommendation
that can perform as well as this on Win and equally good or better on
Ubuntu.

After finding one, I will be selling a good condition Palit GF9600GT
1024m DDR2 video card.
