ok i screwed it up now. I decided to reinstall the driver and ran a sudo sh NVIDIA-Linux-x86-280.13.run
i ignored the 'Default Re: The distribution-provided pre-install script failed!' proceed, yes/no? and proceeded, and it said it installed correctly. after rebooting i only get a blinking orange cursor. I can reboot into terminal. I'm currently checking all sorts of google results for 'nvidia blank screen after reboot' etc., and variations, but no go. I need to uninstall all nvidia stuff and redo the whole thing again but am groping through this. any help gary On Thu, Sep 8, 2011 at 12:27 AM, Christopher Baluyut <[email protected]> wrote: > BTW, I'm on a 9800GT with 512MB DDR3 (dated but still works).
