Denis, Be sure you ran the system with the CD 12.04 for awhile, and you used the system as you normally use it. If you have a heat problem, you need to exercise your system as much as possible to see if the problem reappears.
You can run diagnostics on your hard drive from the CD to see if you have a HD problem. Someone on the list will know more about disk utilities on your CD than I do.
