Or as an alternative, Ina, instead of renaming or
deleting the current /lib/modules/<kernel> before
building the modules, you can edit
/usr/src/linux/Makefile and find the line that
says EXTRAVERSION. Give it a distinct value such as:
EXTRAVERSION= -kernel_of_ina.
This will result to a new /lib/modules subdirectory of
the format /lib/modules/<kernel>-kernel_of_ina.
(<kernel> is actually formed by the Makefile variables
VERSION.PATCHLEVEL.SUBLEVEL). That way, the new kernel
will find the correct modules. If you revert to your
old kernel, it will still find its correponding
modules library, so you wont have problems.
