Carlo,

It seems to me that your problem stems from the limitations of wu-ftpd itself,
being that you cannot "see" and "disconnect" users logged into the ftpd. It
appears to me that you wanted to kill a connected user and temporarily disable
a user's account, disabling him from logging in for a period of time. I do not
think there is a neat way of doing this aside from, like what previous replies
have suggested, manually killing the PID and commenting out the user's account
from the passwd file. What I would like to suggest, as an alternative, would be
to install a different ftpd. There are many famous ftpds that give
administrators more control over user accounts, such as ftp4all, gftpd, glftpd,
and the like, most of which are under the GPL or Freeware license. One ftpd
which has become my personal favorite is glftpd, mostly due to its ease of
installation, configurability and the amount of control that it can assign to
different users and/or groups. With it, kicking a user from a site and
temporarily disabling his/her account is a snap, and there are even some GUI
(Graphical User Interface) programs for *nix/Windows made just for remote
administration. Another good thing about ftpds like glftpd and ftp4all is the
ability to configure each and every command, as well as support for custom
commands and login/changedir/logout/etc.. messages.
All these ftpds can be found by simply searching for them in freshmeat (just
enter their names as your query). Should you have any problems configuring or
installing them, I would be glad to help (as long as classes haven't started
yet :)

Anyway, hope this helps! :)
