Just got our connection to PLDT DSL. They are offering 2 plans for
private use, one is 2K for 128Kbps and 2.5K for 256Kbps (this is a
monthly rate. We got the 256Kbps. As of now, I'm only getting about 1/4
of the 256Kbps (maximum) they promised. They also don't want to support
masquerading and proxy if you subscribed for these residential plans (got
it directly from their technical support). As for linux support, what I
got from tech support was "If you want to use our DSL for your network,
get our 18K corporate plan". Damn, they're using PPPoE and are providing
a the EnterNet 300 PPPoE client for winbloze. Good thing there's a
roaring penguin PPPoE client. Our zpdee cable connection is much faster,
as I'm getting as much as 500Kbps from it.
