I'm building my linux box to configure omy computer:
AMD K6-III 500 mhz
ASUS Socket 7 motherboard
64mb RAM
Nvidia M64 TnT2 32 MB Video Card
1.8 GB partition linux space on /dev/hda4
50x cdrom
56k modem
Sampo 14es monitor
floppy disk
Is there a way to make a base minimum install with RH 7 so that i can install make an optimized environmnet for the following use
3d/2d Graphics (manipulation etc/games opengl, povray)
Programming C/C++ , Php Java(more on web based)
Web Development ( internet, website design )
I'm planning to run:
xfce
povray
blender
gimp
text editor
netscape
abiword
xpdf
All under 100 to 200 install?
Can anyone recommend anything? Should i change my distro? Dos RH 6.2 make a base minimum install since RedHat 7.0 does this but its 195 megabytes! I need somthing i can build on!
Something that will install ONLY base minimums!
Lastly...
Something thats conpatiblw with the kernel 2.4.2 since i want to configure my system to use my scanner and usb printer =).
