1.) training center - yap there is...q-linux for redhat, SuSE Phils. for SUSE.
as regards certification - RHCE for Redhat, LPI & SAIR for SuSE, Caldera, Turbolinux,
Slackware, etc. pick your choice.
2.) the only pre-requisite i can think of is linux literacy.
assess your skills if you really are bent on getting certified. there are a lot of
guys i know who hack linux pretty well but are not "certified". for me, i got trained
and certified from SuSE Labs after our company went full SuSE Linux end to end from
our command center down to our design fabs.
