Mandrake and RedHat rpms are more or less similar, and you can cross-install them if the libraries and deps are satisfied. The RPM spec is the same (Mandrake basically uses RedHat's RPM code, but differs with respect to dependency identifiers, and sometimes macros. The other side of the world is SuSE and Caldera which have more incompatibilities with the RH version, sometimes even the tags are incompatible. _ Philippine Linux Users Group.
