it simply means there were no more pre-patches
released after 2.5.8 got stable so the prepatch section
got stuck at 2.5.8-pre3 which *was* really a patch against
stable 2.5.7. looking at the date for 2.5.8-pre3 confirms
this. if it was a pre-patch for the latest 2.5 kernel, then
its timestamp would be more current than the latest 2.5 kernel timestamp.
